Church Walk

Church Walk
The church walking group meets on the fourth Thursday of each month, meeting at the end of Woodhey Road at 10.00. We take turns leading the walk of about 5 to 6 miles and walkers take their own packed lunch having a picnic on the way. It is usually in the immediate area but sometimes, particularly in the summer we go further afield by car.
Church Amble
Oct 25 @ 10:30 am – 2:00 pm

Church Amble

The Church Amble is a shorter walk, or amble, on the fourth Thursday of each month starting at 10.30am and meeting on Woodhey Road. This is for people who like to get out into the countryside and fresh air, but enjoy a less energetic walk – two to three miles. There is usually a coffee break during the walk and finishing with a pub lunch.

These occasions are very friendly and sociable.

Alpha Course
Oct 25 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that freely explore the basics of the Christian faith. No pressure. No follow up. No charge.

We shall cover the topics

  • Why Christianity?
  • Who is Jesus?
  • Why did He die?
  • How to read the Bible
  • What is Prayer?
  • Holy Spirit – 2 sessions
  • How does God guide us?

The course starts on October 11th and is absolutely free.

Knit and Natter
Nov 7 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

We are a group which meets in the church lounge usually once a month in the evening in summer and afternoon in winter.

We started by knitting daffodils before Easter in 2011 to distribute in our local community together with an Easter message. We continue to meet and have completed several projects—a display of fruit, vegetables and flowers for the harvest festival, heart key rings which were given to everyone who attended the Christmas Sunday with a Difference service.

Our project now is knitting for very early born babies for whom there are no clothes which are the right size. We meet very informally for two hours, during which time we have tea and coffee, and as our name says, knit and natter.
